J.K. Rowling Says Gender Changes for Kids “One of the Worst Medical Scandals in a Century”

Author of the famous Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling, expressed her strong concerns about young children who want to change their genders. In a recent podcast by The Free Press called The Witch Trials of J.K. Rowling, she stated that allowing kids to be involved in gender changes will cause “one of the worst medical scandals in a century.” Rowling, who was once considered a feminist icon, has been widely criticized for rejecting contemporary transgender beliefs.

Rowling believes that doctors and activists who promote medically transitioning kids solely from gender complexities should have known better. “Those who have cheered it on are creating a climate where those trying to raise red flags have been intimidated into silence,” she said. She emphasized that gender dysphoric child patients are often persuaded that the solution for their problems is lifelong medicalization, which could result in real-world consequences.

Rowling’s concern extends to the Tavistock Centre and its Gender Identity Development Service (GIDS), which has seen a rise in girls diagnosed with gender dysphoria by the clinic. The clinic was closed down last year for not safeguarding children adequately. In a book called Time to Think: The Inside Story of the Collapse of the Tavistock’s Gender Service for Children, by a former journalist, even the left-wing newspaper The Guardian admitted that the clinic’s practices on children, including puberty-blockers, were like those from a dystopian novel.

Rowling considered the alarmingly authoritarian approach taken by the woke movement to be “puritanical, judgmental and authoritarian.” The practices endorsed by the woke movement, she argues, are alienating young men and causing them to look inwards for acceptance. “They are shutting down debate and freedom of thought and expression… If we cannot look to those institutions, then we are in trouble,” she said.

Rowling has come under fire and was even personally attacked and threatened by the far-left for her stance on transgenderism.
