Trump Charged With 34 Felony Counts, Will Get Special Treatment: Report
On Tuesday, it was reported that former President Donald Trump will face 34 felony counts related to falsifying business records. However, Trump will reportedly receive special treatment from prosecutors and will not be handcuffed, have his photo taken, or be placed in a jail cell.
The 34 felony counts that Trump is facing are considered Class E felonies, which are the lowest-level felonies in New York state and carry a sentence of up to 4 years per charge. However, law enforcement officials have indicated that first-time offenders typically do not receive jail time for these charges.
Trump immediately took to social media to claim that the indictment had been illegally leaked by District Attorney Bragg and called for him to be indicted himself. Trump also faces legal troubles in three other criminal investigations, including a federal investigation into his post-election actions, an investigation in Georgia regarding alleged election meddling, and another federal investigation into his handling of US government records after his term ended.
