Secret Service Agents Subpoenaed To Testify In Documents Criminal Case Against Trump: Report
A federal grand jury investigating the handling of classified documents by former President Donald Trump has subpoenaed Secret Service agents. Multiple agents are scheduled to testify at the end of the week. Fox News anchor, Bret Baier, tweeted that the grand jury hearings are related to the handling of classified materials at Mar-a-Lago. The hearing comes after Trump was indicted on multiple felonies and flown to New York for arraignment.
According to The Washington Post, FBI and Department of Justice investigators found new evidence that suggest potential obstruction of justice by Trump in the classified documents case. Reportedly, investigators have witness statements, security camera footage, and other evidence showing that Trump went through the boxes after receiving a subpoena to make sure certain things remained in his possession. While his team then signed a declaration saying all documents had been returned after the subpoena, a subsequent raid found scores of classified documents that were not turned over. Trump faces separate criminal investigations over his attempts to stay in power after the 2020 Presidential election.
