West Virginia AG Patrick Morrisey launches bid for governor

The three-term West Virginia Attorney General, Patrick Morrisey, has announced his candidacy for the office of governor in 2024. Speaking with One America News National Political Correspondent, Daniel Baldwin, Morrisey stated that he is a ‘proven conservative’ and that he has the experience to make West Virginia a ‘shining state in the mountains’. Morrisey is known for suing major pharmaceutical companies, including CVS and Walgreens, for their part in the opioid epidemic in West Virginia. He said this was a clear indication of his commitment to conservative values, expanding freedom and protecting jobs.

Morrisey’s campaign announcement came on the same day that former President Donald Trump pleaded not guilty to 34 felony charges of falsifying business records, with Morrisey stating that the indictment was a political witch hunt.

The Attorney General’s announcement is expected to cause a stir among voters, as he is now part of a very crowded field of candidates who have also filed papers seeking the Republican nomination for governor. Among them are West Virginia State Auditor, J.B. McCuskey, State lawmaker, Moore Capito, and automobile dealer, Chris Miller.

However, Morrisey is confident that his ‘proven track record’ in taking on the political elite will set him apart, promising to ‘build red state coalitions’, and to ‘stop the border of West Virginia from being invaded by woke ideals and anti-freedom initiatives’.

When asked about his future plans, Morrisey made it clear that, as governor of West Virginia, he would stand up for conservative values and ensure that the right thing happened. He also pledged to use the full weight and authority of the state’s executive agencies in fighting for West Virginia.
