Kid Rock Blasts Bud Light For Partnering With Trans Activist Dylan Mulvaney
Rock star Kid Rock, also known as Robert James Ritchie, voiced his strong opposition to the partnership between Bud Light and transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney. The 52-year-old musician shared a video message on social media, in which he expressed his disapproval of the collaboration and shot into cases of Bud Light beer. Anheuser-Busch, the parent company of Bud Light, responded with a statement explaining that the brand works with a variety of influencers to connect with audiences of all types. The company confirmed that the personalized beer can featuring Mulvaney’s face was a gift, commemorating a personal milestone and not for general sale. News of the partnership led to calls for boycotts of the brand and all Anheuser-Busch products, though Bud Light has previously included LGBTQ representation in its marketing campaigns, such as selling limited edition rainbow cans in partnership with GLAAD for Pride month.
