Trump Wins Another $122K in Legal Fees From Stormy Daniels Hours After Arraignment

The United States Court of Appeals has released new court documents stating that adult film star, Stormy Daniels, is required to pay former President Donald Trump an additional $121,962.56 in legal fees. Daniels had already been ordered to pay Trump $300,000 in legal fees after her failed defamation lawsuit. Despite her appeals, a court ruled against her in the past year.
Harmeet Dhillon, the founder of Dhillon Law Group Inc., tweeted that “Collectively, our firm obtained over $600,000 in attorney fee awards in his [Trump’s] favor in the meritless litigation initiated by Stormy Daniels.” Eric and Don Jr. Trump also celebrated the news on Twitter.
The court documents specify that Trump requested the additional amount to be paid for 183.35 hours worked “defending against the appeal and preparing the fee application.” The court has awarded the sum of money in favor of Trump and against “Stephanie Clifford,” which is Daniels’s real name.
Daniels previously stated that the defamation lawsuit was filed against Trump in 2018 “without my permission and against my wishes” by her attorney, Michael Avenatti. She also claimed that she would “go to jail” before paying “a penny” of the money she owes Trump. The legal fee ruling has no relation to Trump’s arraignment in New York City, which is related to criminal charges filed in Manhattan.
