White House Says There Should Be No Age Limit on Child Sex Changes
During a press conference at the White House, Karine Jean-Pierre, the Press Secretary, was asked about the appropriate age for children to undergo gender transitions medically. She responded by saying that it should be decided by the child and their parents and not by legislators.
She was also asked about the recent ban on hormone therapies, puberty blockers, and gender transition surgeries for minors in Indiana. She stated that President Biden believes it is up to the child and their parents to decide what is appropriate for them.
There has been a surge in the number of anti-LGBTQI bills in state houses recently, with over 600 of them filed, including bills directed towards the trans community, according to Jean-Pierre. Biden has been a staunch supporter of the community and will continue to fight for them, she added.
The fatal shooting at a Christian school in Nashville by a transgender individual, Audrey Hale, was called an attack on the trans community by Jean-Pierre. She denounced the “anti-trans bills” and said they were unacceptable.
