North Korean Media Says U.S. – South Korea Military Drills Pushing Region Close to Nuclear War

North Korea state media is warning Thursday that recent U.S.-South Korea military drills are pushing the security situation in the region to “the brink of a nuclear war.”

The venomous comments were made a day after the U.S. army conducted joint sessions with South Korea in which it flew nuclear-capable B-52 aircraft over the Korean Peninsula. Along with U.S., Southern Korean, and Asian ships, the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz took part in naval anti-submarine drills this year.

According to an article released by the state-run Korean Central News Agency on Thursday,” The U.S. kicked off several largest-ever joint military drills against the DPRK instantly, despite the latter repeated’s grave instructions, pushing the security situation of the Korean peninsula to the verge of a nuclear battle.”

According to the story, which was attributed to Choe Ju Hyon, who North Korea claims is an” international security analyst ,”” the U. S. led allied soldiers were busy with an anti-submarin war exercise and a search and rescue exercise in the waters around the Korean peninsula to stoke an atmosphere of clash with the DPRK.”

The exercise, which was held to enhance the allied powers for coping with the underground threat from North Korea,” promoted the strengthening of the friendly punishment and security cooperation ,” it continued.” The hostile forces bravely make menacing remarks against the DPRK.”

The story added that” the international community immediately hopes that the ominous nuclear war clouds hanging over the Asian island will be removed as soon as possible and peace and stability brought to the fore.”

According to the article’s conclusion’s,” the U.S. and its vassal forces’ frantic joint military drills have transformed the Korean peninsula into a massive powder magazine that can detonate at any moment, and the area around the island has transformed into an exclusive firing range for the United States imperialist aggressors and an international museum of strategic weapons ,” which is something that is universally acknowledged by the international community.
