Lucasfilm Announces New Star Wars Film Focused on Daisy Ridley’s Rey

As the company recently announced they will be making a different Star Wars film centered on Daisy Ridley’s’s Rey, Lucasfilm continues to confirm to long-time fans of the series that the studio is effectively bankrupt.

According to an official webpage, this new movie will” include Daisy Ridley again as Rey as she builds a fresh Jedi Order” and will be directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.

According to a press release,” Kennedy” then revealed that” Star Wars” would move into the future, with new episodes set 15 years after the Skywalker Saga’s’s final episodes. Daisy Ridley will be returning to her loving purpose as Rey in the upcoming film, the producer announced after telling the tale of rebuilding the New Jedi Order and the power that rise to tear it down.

Following the announcement of the movie, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy spoke with IGN and gave some additional information about how it came to be.

This information supports rumors that Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy was developing a movie with people from Disney’s’s movie series. Justin Kroll of Deadline revealed in October that Obaid-Chinoy had been hired to lead the movie and that Damon Lindelof was co-writing the text.

Lindelof was reportedly” working on a Star Wars film for Lucasfilm ,” according to Richard Rushfield at The Ankler in March 2022, even before Kroll made these assertions.

The Hollywood Reporter’s Borys Kit would elaborate on Kroll’s initial claims and reveal Lindelof was writing the film with Justin Britt-Gibson albeit Kit also detailed he joined the film “after a secret writers room” had already been working on it since Star Wars Celebration 2022.

Kit had already assert that, despite not being a progression of the Skywalker saga, sources claim that the story would take place following the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalk in 2019. However, it might include some of the 2010s Star Wars trilogy roles.

Additionally, he stated that although the show may be stand-alone, it might inspire other projects based on how well it performs at the box office.
