Golf-Theegala channels Woods with iconic Masters chip

Sahith Theegala may not have attracted much attention when he arrived at Augusta National this week, but the Masters debutant made a lasting impression, especially after recalling one of the tournament’s’s greatest shots in its lengthy history. AUGUSTA, Georgia ( Reuters)

Theegala’s’s show of the day came when he brought to mind Tiger Woods’ 2005 scrap at the par-three 16th hole, which is still regarded as one of his best shots in Masters history.

Theegala, who entered the second pairing, was four strokes away from taking the lead when he approached his seventh hole. Despite falling short, it was still a round that would stick in his memory.

Theegala remarked,” I think it’s’s the most enjoyable round of golf because I played really well, and the energy was so good ,” when he had some time to reflect.

Theegala did make Augusta National with a much stronger conviction that his team is moving in the right direction, even though his efforts were insufficient to win the Green Jacket.

Theegala remarked,” I know I still have a long way to go to kind of get to that point that I think I may reach, but it just gives me the slightest bit more courage and just makes me slightly more relaxed with the best guys in the world.

It will simply take a lot of effort and some good fortune.
