7 Things You Might Have Missed Last Week While the Media Were Stalking Trump

Stories that actually matter

What happened: The mainstream media spent the better part of last week stalking former president Donald Trump as he made his way from Mar-a-Lago to Manhattan, where he was formally charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records.

Chase Those Ratings: Watch the Media’s Obsessive Coverage of Trump’s Arraignment Journey

What you missed: Instead of staking out Trump Tower, airing shots of Trump’s plane idling on the tarmac, and following his motorcade in a helicopter, the mainstream media could have devoting their resources to informing the public about issues that actually matter.

Even the Liberal Media Aren’t Buying Alvin Bragg’s Bogus Trump Indictment

Here are seven stories that might have received the attention they deserved if the media weren’t hysterically obsessing over an indictment that even Trump’s opponents have described as “legally weak.”

1) Biden judge released criminal who went on to fatally stab young women

Career criminal George Sydnor Jr. was charged on April 1 with first-degree murder after allegedly breaking into a hotel room and brutally stabbing 31-year-old Christy Bautista with a kitchen knife.

Sydnor, who has been convicted of numerous crimes including domestic violence and rape, was arrested in October for armed robbery. Sean Staples, a D.C. superior court judge appointed by President Joe Biden in 2021, released Sydnor in December despite another judge’s determination that the suspect remain in jail given his criminal history.

2) Radical ‘Defund the Police’ activist elected mayor of Chicago

The Windy City could have chosen Paul Vallas, a moderate Democrat who argued that crime is bad and should not be tolerated. Instead, Chicagoans opted for Brandon Johnson, a union activist who promised to raise taxes on businesses to fund “Social Impact investing programs.”

Johnson in 2020 addressed a “town hall on a police-free future,” told a news station that “defund the police” was “an actual real political goal,” and defended the looting of businesses during the George Floyd riots. “These companies have insurance,” he said.

Johnson’s victory last Tuesday came despite polls showing that “public safety” was the top concern among Chicago voters. The city’s murder rate has jumped nearly 40 percent since 2019. Good luck!

3) North Carolina Democrat switches parties

State Rep. Tricia Cotham, a longtime Democrat, announced last Wednesday she was joining the Republican Party, a move that will give GOP lawmakers in the state a large enough majority to override the Democratic governor’s veto power.

The “modern-day Democratic Party has become unrecognizable to me and others across the state,” Cotham said. “The party wants to villainize anyone who has free thought, free judgment, has solutions, and wants to get to work to better our state.”

Part of what motivated her decision, Cotham said, was the vitriol she received from Democrats on social media and in person for simply celebrating the American flag and promoting the power of prayer.

4) TikTok lobbyists welcomed at White House

The Washington Free Beacon reported last week that lobbyists representing TikTok met recently with White House officials as lawmakers debate whether to ban the Chinese-owned spyware app in the United States.

TikTok is represented by SKDK, the lobbying firm founded by senior White House adviser Anita Dunn, who was also approached by disgraced Hollywood pervert Harvey Weinstein for “damage control” advice in 2017, prior to his conviction on rape charges.

5) Cash App founder stabbed to death in San Francisco

Bob Lee, the 43-year-old founder of Cash App, was fatally stabbed while walking through Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s (D., Calif.) congressional district. The father of two had recently relocated to Miami from San Francisco because of “deteriorating” conditions in the Democratic-controlled city, which has been overrun by criminals and drug-addled vagrants.

6) Iran hasn’t stopped cracking down on female protesters

Remember last fall when journalists and other liberal activists briefly pretended to care about the anti-regime protests in Iran? The media have definitely stopped caring, but they’re not alone.

The Free Beacon reported that Iranian activists are annoyed that U.S. lawmakers have lost interest in holding the Islamist regime accountable for the murder and torture of more than 500 demonstrators.

Meanwhile, authorities in Iran have vowed to crack down on women who fail to comply with rules requiring them to wear headscarves in public and continue to arrest women not adequately covering their hair.

7) Martha Stewart, 81, drops jaws as she serves another sizzling thirst trap displaying her gorgeous hairstyle and sultry pout

Damn, she’s even older than Joe Biden.
