Email on Classified Docs Leak: Pentagon Issues
On Easter Sunday, the Department of Defense( DoD) released its most thorough public statement to date regarding the alleged classified information leak.
The DoD is evaluating the” accuracy of the photographed articles that are circulating on social media sites and that appear to contain sensitive and highly regarded content ,” according to Pentagon assistant press secretary Sabrina Singh.
In the speech, Singh added,” An joint work has been launched, focused on assessing the impact these photographed information could have on U.S. regional security and on our Allies and partners.” U.S. officials” engaged with Allies and partners over the weekend and informed pertinent legislative committees of jurisdiction about the publication.”
The Pentagon had only publicly stated that it was aware of the images and that the Department of Justice ( DOJ) had received a criminal referral up until Sunday.
Singh confirmed that a judicial investigation had been launched by the DOJ on Sunday. The defense of our country and our national security is the Department of Defense’s’s top priority, she continued.
Numerous pictures, starting with Discord, have apparently started to appear on social media in recent weeks, revealing what appear to be top-secret information about Russia’s’s war in Ukraine, surveillance projects, and more. Documents apparently appear authentic, but the apparent leak’s’s origin is still unknown. Many of the documents appear to have been created for Gen. Mark Milley, the Joint Chiefs of Staff chair, and other senior military officials, according to a U.S. defense official, but he stressed that anyone with the necessary clearance may have access to them.
According to The New York Times, military experts warned that at least some of the document picture might have been altered. For example, they believe that estimates of the number of people killed in the Ukraine fight on both sides are inaccurate. The documents, according to the news source, show that the US is more familiar with Russia’s’s military strategy than it is with the$ 200 billion-plus defense program of Ukraine.
Israel retaliated against alleged wisdom on Sunday, claiming that the nation’s’s Mossad intelligence agency encouraged demonstrations against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his contentious judicial reforms proposal.
The prime minister’s’s office claimed in a tweet on behalf of Mossad that the report that was released overnight in the American press was” mendacious and without any foundation whatsoever.”
