Macron Says Europe Must Not Become ‘America’s Followers’ In Confrontation With China
When it comes to resolving conflicts between the United States and China, French President Emmanuel Macron stated over the weekend that Europe should adopt a” corporate freedom” process.
According to the French president, Europe runs the risk of getting sucked into issues and problems in which it has little to no attention by allying too closely with the United States. According to POLITICO, Macron’s’s plan to transform Europe into a” third superpower” is known as” strategic autonomy ,” as he puts it.
On Sunday, Macron remarked,” The dilemma would be that, overcome with terror, we think we are really America’s’s fans.” Is it in our best interest to hasten a crisis on Taiwan? is the dilemma Europeans must respond to. No. The worst scenario is to believe that we Europeans must adopt this viewpoint and follow the U.S. plan and a Taiwanese reaction.
In Beijing, where top leaders in the Chinese Communist Party have endorsed it and frequently encourage other European countries to accept it as well, Macron’s’s concept of” corporate freedom” has found widespread support.
The president made these comments following his trip to Beijing next month, where he spoke with Chinese President Xi Jinping for about six years about the likelihood of a truce between Russia and Ukraine. On that accounts, Macron’s’s attend doesn’t seem to have had much of an impact.
Macron aimed to persuade China to rely on Russia in order to mediate a resolution to the conflict that had been raging in Ukraine for more than two years.
During a joint press conference with Macron, Xi stated that” China is willing to simultaneously appealing with France to the international community to are pragmatic and relaxed.”
He continued,” Peace talks may resume as soon as possible, taking into account the legitimate security concerns of all parties with regard to the U.N. Charter … seeking political quality and constructing a good, reliable, and green European security platform.”

Macron’s’s trip to China worked against American interest in” decoupling” the West from China. Due to complaints about unfair trade practices and China’s’s regional aggression, most recently directed against its neighbor Taiwan, a significant trading companion for the United States, the U.S. has become more and more at odds with China in recent years.
China has reportedly strengthened its ties with Russia by purchasing more Soviet crude while also shipping Moscow arms, munitions, and aircraft parts while projecting an air of nonpartisanship in the conflict. Xi traveled to Moscow next month to meet with Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, during what Beijing referred to as a” process of love.”
