Conor McGregor Answers Michael Chandler’s Claim That He Would Beat Him “Within an Inch of His Career”
Conor McGregor is getting ready to get back in the Octagon and his upcoming opponent, Michael Chandler, is already throwing trash talk his way.
McGregor last fought in 2021 with back-to-back losses against Dustin Poirier. Later this year, he is expected to face off against Chandler, with the two serving as both rivals on The Ultimate Fighter and in the Octagon. Chandler took to Twitter and made a bold statement, “Can’t wait to go out there and beat Conor McGregor within an inch of his career. #UFC287”.
McGregor, who is known for his trash-talking skills, had a cool and casual response for Chandler’s verbal jabs.
“I sweat you, and all of you, not one iota,” McGregor replied.
Although McGregor is considered one of the greatest fighters in UFC, his recent loss and broken leg might make him the underdog going into the upcoming fight against Chandler, a former Mizzou amateur wrestling star. The fight between these two rivals promises a fantastic contrast of styles.

McGregor has achieved worldwide fame as the first competitor to simultaneously hold championships in two different weight classes, as well as for his success with mainstream media and endorsements. His fight against boxing star Floyd Mayweather reportedly earned him $130 million in 2017.
A win over McGregor would not only elevate Chandler’s status in the rankings but also increase his chances of becoming a box-office draw. The fight is planned for later this year, with dates in August and September being discussed.
