Country Singer Granger Smith Announces His Final Tour, Says He’s Leaving Music To Focus On Faith
Country music artist Granger Smith has announced his final tour, after which he intends to leave the music industry to focus on pursuing his faith and ministry. He announced the news to his fans via a video post on Instagram, stating that he had a strong calling to ministry and had been pursuing his master’s degree in theology, while continuing to create music. In his post, the “Backroad Song” singer acknowledged that the decision was difficult to make, after having performed for 24 years.
Smith expressed his desire to glorify God in his future endeavors and hopes to encourage others to identify and pursue their purpose. He is, however, unsure what the future holds for him, but plans to serve his local church and allow his pastors to guide him in his next steps. The artist also highlighted his desire to reconcile his pursuit of ministry with his weekend performances which require praise and glorification.
Smith acknowledged the influence of his faith on his life, especially after the loss of his three-year-old son, River, in 2019. The singer attributed his faith to saving him from hitting rock bottom. He recently welcomed another son, Maverick, with his wife, Amber, and they have two other children, London and Lincoln.
