Disgraced Ex-Biden Official Sam Brinton Avoids Jail Time After Plea Deal In Luggage Theft Case
Samuel Brinton, a former official of the Biden Energy Department, has avoided jail time after pleading “no contest” this week after he was allegedly caught on video stealing luggage at the Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas.
According to Eight News Now, Brinton agreed to pay over $3,500 in restitution to the victim and received a suspended 180-day jail sentence. Brinton pleaded “no contest” to a misdemeanor theft charge, having initially been charged with a felony after the police believed the stolen amount to be $3,670.
The Las Vegas investigators stated that a male adult wearing a white T-shirt with a rainbow-colored nuclear symbol design was caught on the security footage taking the victim’s luggage before leaving the airport. Brinton demonstrated several behavioral cues typical of suspects committing luggage theft, according to the investigators in Las Vegas, when he pulled the luggage from the conveyor and examined the tag before placing it back on the carousel and looking around, then taking it quickly and walking away.
Brinton has caused controversy by dressing in drag and boasting online about his puppy role-play fetish. He came under fire in November of last year for allegedly stealing another woman’s luggage in Minneapolis. He is yet to face conviction on a felony charge in Minnesota.
By pleading no contest to the misdemeanor in Las Vegas, Brinton was able to avoid a potential jail term of up to ten years.
