The Library of Congress announced Wednesday that Mariah Carey‘s iconic holiday hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You” will be entered into the Library of Congress National Recording Registry.
Carla Hayden, the library of Congress, stated in a press release that” The National Recording Registry preserves our origins through recorded tone and reflects our nation’s’s unique community.”

According to Hayden, Carey’s’s reach is one of 25 tapes that have been added to the register, guaranteeing that recordings are preserved for future generations.
