Riley Gaines answers Katie Porter attack on women’s sports advocacy: ‘I see what’s at stake’
Former championship swimmer-turned-women’s sports advocate Riley Gaines responded to Rep. Katie Porter’s (D-CA) accusations of pursuing “likes and clicks.”
Gaines claimed that she is fighting for others rather than herself to shield trans women from women’s’s sports.
RILEY GAINES:” THEY HAVE NO OTHER WAY TO PERSUADE YOU,” TRANSGENDER Protesters USE Crime.
Before other guest Piers Morgan retorted that he saw Gaines defending” women’s’s privileges to fairness and equality ,” Porter appeared on Real Time on Friday with Bill Maher and claimed that the latter had been” using things to kind of get love and get keystrokes.” She is” speaking up for herself, which is her authority, and I respect her right to free speech ,” Porter continued.
Morris responded by saying she has postponed her own career plans in order to defend women’s’s sports justice.
Gaines tweeted,” Hey @ RepKatiePorter I’m’m not speaking up for myself.” ” I’m’m done participating in sports.” I’m’m not battling for myself. Actually, this year I’m’m supposed to be in dental school. But after realizing what would happen if someone didn’t stand up for the present and the next generation, I changed my life programs.
Why do women always fight against sex-based privileges? Gaines continued. ” I’ll’ll never be able to understand that.”

Following then-University of Pennsylvania transgender swimmer Lia Thomas’ NCAA Division I national championship, Gaines started outspokenly opposing the inclusion of trans women in women’s’s sports.
She most recently gained notoriety when she was harassed by a group of trans activists at San Francisco State University while speaking out in favor of women’s’s sports rights.
