Sen. John Fetterman Returns to Senate After Hospitalization for Depression
Two months after seeking treatment for clinical depression at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Sen. John Fetterman( D-Pa. ) returned to the Senate on Monday.
After a two-week break, Congress reconvened on Monday. As he entered the Senate chamber on Monday wearing a sweater and hoops shorts, the undergraduate Democrat from Pennsylvania mostly avoided the media.
He paused briefly to say,” It’s’s great to be back ,” as he entered the building from a car. Thank you a lot. He had hitherto stated that he would return to the Senate after the break was over.
On March 31, Fetterman was released from Walter Reed and went back to his Braddock, Pennsylvania, house. On February 15, he had checked himself in.
On February 16, his chief of staff provided an explanation, stating that Fetterman has struggled with depression his entire life and that it has recently gotten” severe.” The employee stated that inpatient care was suggested by Fetterman’s’s evaluating physician.
This occurred a month after Fetterman was released from George Washington University Hospital, where he had been kept under close observation for several days after becoming lightheaded on February 8 while the Senate Democrats were retreating.
Fetterman has struggled with medical problems; the trip before the May 2022 chief, he had a stroke while running for office.
Fetterman’s’s melancholy was recovery, according to a speech from his dentist, Dr. David Williamson, after he received treatment there and was released on March 31.
” I am incredibly appreciative of the outstanding Walter Reed company.” After being freed, Fetterman said in a speech,” The charge they gave me changed my life.”
