Former Teen Reality Star Kristin Cavallari Forbid Children From Acting Until 18: ‘I Just Want Them To Be Kids’

Former reality star Kristin Cavallari said her kids aren’t allowed to pursue fame, even through YouTube channels, until they’re 18.

The star of MTV’s “Laguna Beach” and “The Hills” made the comments during an episode of “The Jennifer Hudson Show” on Wednesday, per The Daily Mail

Cavallari said her three kids, 10-year-old son Camden, 8-year-old son Jaxson, and 7-year-old daughter Saylor wouldn’t be permitted to pursue entertainment careers as long as she was in charge of them.

“I’d say no until they’re 18,” the former teen TV star told Hudson. “Look, if they want to have a career in entertainment when they’re 18, absolutely, I will support it … but, until they’re 18, I just want them to be kids.”

“It’s hard enough being in high school and doing everything you’re doing as a kid, so just focus on that,” Cavallari said. She went on to say both her sons are “obsessed with YouTube stars now” and have asked to create their own YouTube channel.

“No, we’re not doing any of that,” the “Laguna Beach” alum said. “I don’t even put them on Instagram. I just try to keep them kids, as long as possible.”

Cavallari was married to retired NFL quarterback Jay Cutler from 2013 until 2022. She also talked with Hudson about her dating life post-divorce.

“I’ve just taken the stance that until I’m in a serious, committed relationship, there’s nothing really to report,” the former reality star said. “I’m having fun, I do have good dating stories. This is the first time in my life I’ve really dated.”

“I’ve always had boyfriends, I got married very young, so I’m just enjoying it. I’m going on dates. I’m an active dater, but there’s just no one to report back on just yet,” she told the audience, adding that she’s “looking for someone so secure, just so comfortable in their skin, and I really want a buddy, someone I can laugh with and have fun with.”

Cavallari also said she needs a man who “is going to be very good to my kids, who’s a good dad, so those things are very important.”

The Hollywood star called motherhood the “best thing” she’s ever done. “It’s everything,” she told Hudson.

“Just having all that love and having these little guys to raise and you get to instill what wisdom you’ve learned over the years, it’s given me real purpose in life, I would say, and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done, truly,” Cavallari said.
