Kelly Clarkson Gets Emotional After Henry Winkler Has Message For Her Bullied Dyslexic Daughter
Kelly Clarkson got emotional on her show after her guest Henry Winkler directed a message to her child.
During “The Kelly Clarkson Show” on Tuesday, the host told Winkler about a recent conversation with her 8-year-old daughter, River.
“I was driving my daughter to school yesterday, and she’s dyslexic, and you have told me that you’re dyslexic as well,” Clarkson said.
“I find that amazing, to tell my daughter that you’ve written like 40 books and you’re dyslexic because she was getting bullied at school for not being able to read like all the other kids,” she added.
The “American Idol” star admitted she had no idea how “common” dyslexia is among children after Winkler said, “one in five children” are diagnosed with it.

“She’s part of the tribe!” Winkler told Clarkson.
He then turned to the camera and had a sweet message for River.
“River! How you learn has nothing to do with how brilliant you are,” he said.
Clarkson became emotional, touching her eyes to stop the tears while repeatedly telling her crew that she was “fine.” She dabbed her eyes with a tissue and joked, “My makeup artist is going to kill me!”

“It’s so nice,” she added, joking, “Not everyone looks great crying.”
She continued dabbing her tears and then carried on with the interview.
Clarkson tied the knot with Brandon Blackstock in 2013. Seven years later, she announced they had divorced. They share two kids, River and son Remington, 7.
