If You Want To Boycott Anheuser-Busch Over Dylan Mulvaney, Add These Brands To Your No-Buy List
Bud Light and its parent company, Anheuser-Busch, caused quite a stir when they partnered with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney. The beer brand tried to downplay the partnership, but it was too late. Conservatives were outraged and began boycotting the brand. Even Kid Rock and country music stars John Rich and Travis Tritt got in on the action, with some even banning Bud Light from their establishments. The backlash caused Anheuser-Busch’s market value to plummet, and two executives were placed on leave. But here’s the kicker: many of the alternative beer brands that conservatives may turn to are also owned by Anheuser-Busch’s parent company, AB InBev. Molson Coors, the largest rival to AB InBev, has seen a surge in stock and customers switching to their brands, but they too have expressed support for LGBT causes. Pabst Brewing Company and Yuengling are other options, but the American beer market is overwhelmingly dominated by just two companies, AB InBev and Molson Coors. Some may call for antitrust investigations, but only time will tell if the boycott of Bud Light will have a lasting impact.
