The Metropolitan Police Department’s Chief Robert Contee III is set to retire from his position and join the FBI as assistant director, according to a high-level source. Contee is reportedly “thrilled” with his new job.
Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser released a statement praising Contee’s work for the city, stating that he has been making Washington, DC incredibly proud since his first week on the job. Bowser expressed her confidence that the police force would continue to prosper following his departure.
