Democrat Candidate RFK Jr. Slams ABC News After They Admit To Censoring His Interview: ‘Illegal’
RFK Jr. Slams ABC News for Censoring His Anti-Vaccine Views
Robert Francis Kennedy Jr., a Democrat presidential candidate, has criticized ABC News for censoring parts of his interview with journalist Linsey Davis. Kennedy, who has been known for his anti-vaccine views, is gaining popularity in the Democrat primary polls, with almost 20% support despite his recent announcement of his presidential campaign.
Davis had stated before the interview aired that Kennedy regularly distributes misinformation and disinformation about vaccines, which scientific and medical experts overwhelmingly say are safe and effective based on rigorous scientific studies. After the interview, Davis revealed that the network decided to censor some of Kennedy’s remarks about vaccines, citing the American Academy of Pediatrics and the advocacy group Autism Speaks to say that Kennedy made misleading claims about the relationship between vaccination and autism.
Kennedy responded to the censorship by citing a statute that he claims makes it illegal for TV networks to censor presidential candidates. He said that Americans deserved to hear the full interview so they could make up their own minds and that democracy could not function without “a free and unbiased press.”
Kennedy’s Response to ABC News
- Kennedy cited a statute that makes it illegal for TV networks to censor presidential candidates.
- He said that Americans deserved to hear the full interview so they could make up their own minds.
- Democracy could not function without “a free and unbiased press.”
As President, Kennedy promised to free FCC from its corporate captors and force the agency to follow the law by revoking the licenses of networks that put the mercantile ambitions of advertisers ahead of the public interest.
