Barr criticizes Trump, cites lack of presidential discipline.

Former Attorney General Bill Barr Speaks Out Against Trump

Is Donald Trump Fit to be President?

During an event at the City Club of Cleveland in Ohio, Fox News’s Geraldo Rivera asked former Attorney General Bill Barr if Donald Trump was fit to be president. Barr did not hold back in his response.

  • Barr stated that Trump lacks discipline and the ability for strategic thinking and linear thinking.
  • He also said that Trump is unable to set priorities or understand how to get things done in the system.
  • Barr went on to say that Trump will not deliver his policies, but instead, he will deliver chaos.

“It’s a horror show when he’s left to his own devices,” Barr said. “And if anything, lead to a backlash that will set his policies much further back than they otherwise would be.”

A Rocky Relationship

Barr and Trump have had a rocky relationship since Trump selected Barr as his attorney general in 2019. The two men have had a falling out over Trump’s false claims of voter fraud during the 2020 elections, which Barr called “bulls***.”

Last August, Barr revealed that Trump called him a “f***ing loser” during a meeting that addressed protests following George Floyd’s murder. More recently, Barr has suggested that Trump’s legal woes could continue with another indictment stemming from classified documents discovered at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.

Barr Urges GOP to Move Beyond Trump

Barr’s comments are in line with previous sentiments where he has urged the GOP to move beyond Trump and select another candidate for president. Despite Barr’s criticism, Trump is still the undisputed front-runner in the 2024 GOP presidential primary, consistently leading all other challengers in polling, often by double digits.

It remains to be seen if the GOP will heed Barr’s advice and move on from Trump, or if they will continue to support him as their top candidate.
