Trump warns of potential disaster in CNN showdown.
Former President Trump to Appear on CNN Town Hall
Former President Donald Trump is set to appear on a CNN town hall in New Hampshire, but not without controversy. Trump himself issued a word of caution about what might happen, saying, “it could turn into a disaster for all, including me.”
After CNN announced the event, Democrats and corporate media commentators criticized the network’s decision, citing the Jan. 6 Capitol breach. However, CNN parent company and Warner Brothers CEO David Zaslav defended the move, saying it’s an opportunity to allow “both voices” to be heard before the 2024 election.
Will CNN Censor Trump’s Comments?
While Zaslav did not elaborate on whether the network would have a system in place to edit or censor Trump’s comments, a CNN spokesperson stated that their job is to “ask tough questions, follow up, and hold him accountable to give voters the information they need to sort through their choices.”
Despite this, some media personalities have criticized CNN for allowing Trump on their program. MSNBC host Joy Reid accused CNN of trying to “push itself to the right,” while her guest, Charlie Sykes, suggested that the network should “control the questions and the answers.”
CNN: A Network About the Facts
Zaslav, who took control of the media giant and installed Chris Licht to replace Jeff Zucker as the head of CNN last year, emphasized that the town hall will be an opportunity to show CNN is a “network about the facts…great journalism and not just politics, either.” He added, “When we do politics, we need to represent both sides.”

Love him or hate him, Trump’s appearance on CNN’s town hall is sure to be a highly anticipated event. As the network strives to represent both sides and provide viewers with the information they need to make informed decisions, it remains to be seen how the former president will respond to tough questions and whether or not CNN will be able to filter out any misinformation.
