Prosecutor slams Soros-backed Chicago DA Kim Foxx in resignation letter, cites concerns for raising son in the city.

Prosecutor Resigns and Blasts Chicago Leaders in Scathing Email

Assistant State Attorney Jason Poje

Assistant State Attorney Jason Poje, a 20-year veteran prosecutor in Chicago, recently resigned and didn’t hold back in his exit email. He slammed the city’s “stupid” leaders who he said had set the city “on a course to disaster.” The Chicago Contrarian obtained a copy of Poje’s email, which reserved “special ire for Kim Foxx,” the Cook County State’s Attorney backed by George Soros.

Policies That Have Led to More Crime

Poje criticized the agency for whom he worked, which he said had backed every policy change that led to more crime and more people getting hurt. He cited bond reform, shorter parole periods, lower sentences for repeat offenders, the malicious and unnecessary prosecution of law enforcement officers, the overuse of diversion programs, and intentionally not pursuing prosecutions for crimes lawfully on the books after being passed by the legislature and signed by a governor. He said all of these so-called reforms had a direct negative impact, with consequences that would last for a generation.

Prosecutors’ Fundamental Misunderstanding

Poje said woke prosecutors suffered from a fundamental misunderstanding of what their job is, which he said was “an obligation to fight like hell on behalf of the People.” Instead, he said, those same prosecutors have decided “it’s worth risking citizens’ lives to have a little social experiment” and that the result has been “an increase in crime of all kinds, businesses and families pulling up the stakes, and the bodies piling up.”

Leaving the State of Illinois

Poje said he was fortunate to have the means to escape, so his entire family is leaving the State of Illinois. He grew up there, his family and friends are there, and yet his own employer has turned it into a place from which he is no longer proud to be, and in which his son is not safe.

  • Bond reform designed to make sure no one stays in jail while their cases are pending with no safety net to handle more criminals on the streets
  • Shorter parole periods
  • Lower sentences for repeat offenders
  • The malicious and unnecessary prosecution of law enforcement officers
  • The overuse of diversion programs
  • Intentionally not pursuing prosecutions for crimes lawfully on the books after being passed by our legislature and signed by a governor

Poje said: “Many years ago, my family found a nice corner of the suburbs. Now my son, who is only 5, hears gunfire while playing at our neighborhood park, and a drug dealer is open-air selling behind my house (the second one in two years). If it were just me to consider, I’d stick it out. I’ve been through enough stupid State’s Attorney policies before. But this Office’s complete failure to even think for a moment before rushing into one popular political agenda after another has put my family directly in harm’s way.”
