Republican Representative George Santos from New York has pleaded not guilty to charges of fraud, theft, and lying to Congress. The allegations include defrauding donors, stealing from his own campaign, and collecting unemployment benefits he was not entitled to.

Santos was released on a $500,000 bond after turning himself in to authorities on Long Island. If convicted, he could face up to 20 years in prison.
