Tucker’s Twitter move causes media meltdown.
Tucker Carlson Takes His Show to Twitter, Infuriating the Left and Media World
The news that former Fox News host Tucker Carlson would be taking his show to Twitter after discussions with the platform’s CEO, Elon Musk, has sent shockwaves through the left and media world. In a video posted to his Twitter page, Carlson announced that he would be bringing a new version of his show to the platform, along with other exciting developments. Musk confirmed that the two had talked about having Carlson do a show on Twitter, but that he would be subject to the same rules and rewards as all content creators.
The Media Meltdown Begins
Unsurprisingly, the media meltdowns have commenced accordingly, with the usual suspects incensed over the fact that Carlson refuses to be silenced and that his destination of choice was Twitter, where Musk has rolled out the red carpet. NBC News “journalist” Thomas Costello and fired former CNN media hall monitor Brian Stelter engaged in fretting and handwringing over whether Carlson would be able to speak his mind on the platform, with Stelter suggesting that Carlson would not be able to make any money on the platform because he was allegedly “radioactive” to advertisers.
Carlson Will Break the Establishment Media
However, the idea that Carlson is unlikely to make millions off of continuing to speak his mind via whatever platform he chooses is ridiculous. As RedState colleague Teri Christoph explained, the sky is the limit for Carlson as he is about to “break the establishment media” with his next move, which will also allow him to bring in tons of money in the process. He’ll make much, much more by taking his show to Twitter, which opens up multiple revenue streams for him. It’s a model that could easily be replicated by others, with top cover being provided by Elon Musk himself. And it’s a model that would be a reckoning for the establishment media, with all-important ad dollars leaving cable and broadcast news and migrating to independent platforms and creators.
The Pot Calling the Kettle Black
The media figures who are yelling about “disinformation, misinformation, lies, and chaos” all work for networks that routinely engage in that very thing, and who have also experienced an exodus of advertisers. The pretzels they’re contorting themselves into to proclaim Carlson’s reach won’t be near as vast and his revenue streams will be severely limited are hilarious. They’re trying so hard to cope and declare Carlson “over” because they know they can’t control him and can’t stop him, and it drives them absolutely bananas.
Bless their hearts.
