Mel Gibson and Mark Wahlberg Team Up for New Movie “Flight Risk”
Exciting news for movie fans! Mel Gibson is set to return to the director’s chair for an upcoming film titled “Flight Risk,” based on Jared Rosenberg’s 2020 Blacklist script. And he’s not alone – he’ll be working with none other than Mark Wahlberg!
The film, produced by Lionsgate, will see Wahlberg play a pilot transporting an accused criminal to trial. But things take a turn when the air marshal suspects their pilot is not who he says he is.
A Dynamic Duo
This isn’t the first time Gibson and Wahlberg have worked together. They previously collaborated on the 2022 film “Father Stu,” where Wahlberg played a boxer-turned-priest and Gibson played his father.
Lionsgate’s Joe Drake is thrilled to have the two actors team up again, saying, “We love the undeniable electric pairing of Mel Gibson and Mark Wahlberg. These world-class talents combining for this dynamic, character-driven film will make “Flight Risk” one of the most suspense-filled, must-see events of the year.”
Gibson’s Impressive Resume
“Flight Risk” marks Gibson’s sixth feature in the director’s chair. He’s previously directed acclaimed films like “Braveheart,” “The Passion of the Christ,” and “Hacksaw Ridge.” And he’s not slowing down anytime soon – he’s also working on “The Passion of the Christ: Resurrection” and “Lethal Weapon 5.”
Outside of directing, Gibson will also appear in the upcoming John Wick TV series spin-off, “The Continental.”
What’s Next for Wahlberg?
Wahlberg fans can catch him next in Netflix’s “The Union,” alongside Halle Berry, J.K. Simmons, and Jackie Earle Haley.
