GOP Rep. Nancy Mace suggests support for Nikki Haley as President.
Rep. Nancy Mace Wants to See a Woman on the 2024 Presidential Ticket
On May 17, Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) expressed her desire to see a woman on the 2024 presidential ticket. She even hinted that she might endorse former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley for president.
Mace’s Support for Female Representation
Mace stated, “I want to see a woman on the ticket. I think it’s past time. I don’t want Democrats to beat us to the punch on a female president. I have a daughter, I’m a girl mom, and I’ve worked really hard to break glass ceilings, so I’m very proud of Nikki. She’s all in for the presidency.”
While the Haley campaign declined to comment, Mace’s office clarified that she simply wants to see a female on the GOP ticket and has not yet endorsed any candidate.
Mace’s Impressive Accomplishments
Mace has shattered many glass ceilings throughout her career. In 1999, she became the first woman to graduate from the military college The Citadel. In 2018, she became the first female Republican in South Carolina elected to Congress.
Mace’s Thoughts on Sen. Tim Scott
Mace also expressed admiration for Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), who has founded an exploratory committee and is expected to launch a presidential campaign in the near future. She attends church with him and called him “the nicest human being on Earth.” However, she has not yet endorsed a candidate for the White House.
Conclusion
Mace’s support for female representation in politics is admirable, and it will be interesting to see if she endorses a candidate for the 2024 presidential election.
