Fetterman’s Press Conference Struggle Caught on Camera

Sen. John Fetterman Struggles Through Press Conference

On Thursday, Sen. John Fetterman (D., Pa.) joined fellow Democrats in a press conference to discuss the GOP debt ceiling negotiation. Fetterman expressed his frustration with the situation, stating that it was a “sad charade” and highlighted what’s wrong with Washington.

Urging President Joe Biden to Use the Fourteenth Amendment

During the conference, Fetterman and other Democratic lawmakers urged President Joe Biden to use the Fourteenth Amendment to avoid a default on the budget. However, Fetterman struggled to complete his sentences and stumbled over his words.

“An unelected Supreme Court justice will try to blow up our economy. That’s on them…if they have to…judge on that,” Fetterman said.

Masking Communication Difficulties

Fetterman’s office has attempted to mask his difficulties with clear communication, even sending doctored versions of his quotes to journalists. The media has also covered for the senator, framing his health struggles as a strength.

In an MSNBC interview earlier this month, host Joe Scarborough asked Fetterman if he gets “inspiration from people like Lincoln” who “fought” depression and “changed the world.” CBS News also asked the senator during an interview last month whether he has ambitions for a White House run.

Conclusion

Despite his struggles, Fetterman’s dedication to his work and his party is admirable. Let’s hope he gets the support he needs to continue serving his constituents to the best of his abilities.
