Brian Laundrie didn’t burn his mother’s ‘Burn After Reading’ note – its contents revealed.

The Curious Case of Gabby Petito’s “Burn After Reading” Note

The death of Gabby Petito has been shrouded in mystery, but one piece of the puzzle has come to light – a note from Roberta Laundrie to her son, Brian. The Laundrie family has dismissed it as “hype” and “sensationalism,” but the note has raised eyebrows.

The note, which was made public as part of an ongoing civil suit, was addressed to “Brian Christopher Laundrie” and annotated with “(burn after reading).” The next page showed what appears to be a crow, and said “Remember…”

Roberta then directly addressed her son: “I just want you to remember I will always love you, and I know you will always love me. You are my boy. Nothing can make me stop loving you, nothing will or could ever divide us no matter what we do, or where we go or what we say — we will always love each other.

“If you’re in jail, I will bake a cake and put a file in it. If you need to dispose of a body, I will show up with a shovel and garbage bags. If you fly to the moon, I will be watching the skies for your re-entry. If you say you hate my guts, I’ll get new guts.

“Remember that love is a verb, not a noun. It’s not a thing, it’s not words, it is actions. Watch people’s actions to know if they love you — not their words.”

Roberta Laundrie defended the letter through her legal representation, stating that it was written prior to Gabby and Brian leaving her home for their trip and was in no way related to Gabby. The lawsuit brought forth by Petito’s parents claimed that the Laundries and their attorney knew that Gabby was dead when they put out a statement, which included a line about how it is their “hope that the search for Miss Petito is successful and that Miss Petito is re-united with her family.”

No ruling has been made on the civil suit as of this writing.
