Allie Bones, chief of staff to Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs, steps down.
Gov. Katie Hobbs’s Chief of Staff Resigns
Gov. Katie Hobbs’s (D-AZ) chief of staff, Allie Bones, resigned Thursday in the latest high-profile resignation to plague her administration.
Bones had served as chief of staff since Jan. 2 and was a longtime friend and staffer of Hobbs, according to the Washington Post.
The statement from Hobbs’s office, obtained by Fox News 10, said, “After four and a half years of public service with Gov. Hobbs, Bones will be leaving her position to pursue new opportunities. Her departure comes after a historic budget agreement that makes historic investments in critical areas like housing, infrastructure, and education.”
No reason was given as to why Bones resigned, and her successor will be chosen next week.
Another Blow to Hobbs’s Administration
This resignation comes after that of Hobbs’s press secretary, who came under fire for Twitter posts seemingly threatening “transphobes” with violence following the massacre of Christian schoolchildren and staff by a transgender shooter.
It remains to be seen how this latest resignation will affect Hobbs’s administration, but it is clear that she is facing significant challenges.
