Conservative fans want to know: Will Chip and Joanna Gaines support Target or not?
Fans Demand Chip and Joanna Gaines Take a Stand Against Target’s Pride Collection
Chip and Joanna Gaines, the popular renovation experts and Christian couple, are facing demands from their fans to cut ties with Target over the company’s pride collection. Conservative consumers are calling on the Gaineses to denounce the collection or risk being seen as condoning it.
The collection features controversial items such as “chest binders” and “tuck-friendly” female swimwear targeted at transgender individuals, baby-sized items with pride messages, a board book called “Bye Bye Binary,” and even rainbow merchandise for pets. The background of one of the collection’s designers, Erik Carnell, has also come under scrutiny, with boycott advocates pointing out his Etsy shop features designs that say, “Satan Respects Pronouns” and “Trans Witches For Abortion.”
Despite the boycott gaining traction and Target reporting a $6 billion decrease in market capitalization, Chip and Joanna have remained silent. Fans are flocking to their social media pages to demand answers and take a stand against the company.
Controversy is Nothing New for the Gaineses
This is not the first time the Gaineses have faced controversy. Leftist critics previously tried to cancel them for attending a church that promoted traditional marriage between one man and one woman. The couple addressed the cancel mob with a vague statement, saying they care about people regardless of their political affiliation, sexual orientation, gender, nationality, or faith.
Joanna also addressed accusations of racism and anti-LGBTQ bias in a recent interview, stating that they are far from who they really are. Despite these situations, the Gaineses have remained relatively uncontroversial and appear to have both conservative and progressive fans.
- “As a father of small children, I am appalled that you would continue to be associated with [Target],” one commenter wrote. “Joanna has turned her comments off, which is totally an act of cowardice. Take a stand. You can take the financial loss. God will bless you 10 fold. Stand up!!!”
- “This is a spiritual battle against families! Do the right thing! Doing nothing is speaking volumes,” another person wrote.
- “Get out of Target. Please, for the love of children, take a stand,” a third follower echoed.
Will the Target scandal be the catalyst to make a more definitive statement from the Gaineses and finally admit which side they’re really on?
