Ex-JPMorgan insider accuses CEO of lying about Epstein ties.
Former JPMorgan Chase Insider Claims Top Officials Knew About Epstein’s Accounts
“There is no evidence that any such communications ever occurred—nothing in the voluminous number of documents reviewed and nothing in the nearly dozen depositions taken, including that of our own CEO. The one person who claims this to be true is currently accused of horrific acts and dishonesty.”
A former executive at JPMorgan Chase has alleged that top officials at the bank were aware of the status of Jeffrey Epstein’s accounts with the bank. However, the bank has denied these claims, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.
The allegations have come to light in connection with a current lawsuit in which JPMorgan is being sued by the government of the Virgin Islands, which claims that the bank facilitated Epstein’s predatory behavior. In response, the bank has filed a lawsuit against Jes Staley, a former senior executive at the company.
Did JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon Know About Epstein?
Staley has claimed that CEO Jamie Dimon was kept informed about Epstein, even when he was arrested in 2006 and pleaded guilty in 2008. Staley alleges that Dimon communicated with him off and on about Epstein from then through 2012, and even discussed whether to maintain Epstein as a client through 2012. However, in a Friday deposition, Dimon said he does not recall ever talking about Epstein’s accounts, according to a representative of the bank.
The Virgin Islands lawsuit has also delved into Staley’s “close personal relationship” with Epstein. The lawsuit claims that between 2008 and 2012, Staley exchanged approximately 1,200 emails with Epstein from his JP Morgan email account. The communications show a close personal relationship and “profound” friendship between the two men and even suggest that Staley may have been involved in Epstein’s sex-trafficking operation.
The lawsuit also notes that on two separate occasions when Staley visited Epstein properties, “a woman with an Eastern European surname” was wired money by Epstein. In July 2010, Staley sent an email to Epstein, saying: “Maybe they’re tracking u? That was fun. Say hi to Snow White.” Epstein responded: “[W]hat character would you like next?” When Staley said “Beauty and the Beast”, Epstein replied: “well one side is available.”
Brad Edwards, a lawyer representing an unnamed alleged victim of Epstein who is also suing JPMorgan Chase, has called for Dimon’s deposition to go public, according to the Financial Times.
A report in the Daily Mail has also revealed that Epstein had a meeting scheduled with someone named “Dimon” in March 2010. However, a bank representative has said that no meeting ever took place.
Despite the denials from JPMorgan Chase, the allegations continue to swirl, and the public is left wondering just how much the bank knew about Epstein’s activities.
- Did top officials at JPMorgan Chase know about Epstein’s accounts?
- Did CEO Jamie Dimon communicate with Jes Staley about Epstein?
- What was the nature of Jes Staley’s relationship with Epstein?
These are just a few of the questions that remain unanswered as the lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase continues.
