Wisconsin’s Guaranteed Income Program Issues Latest Payment
A guaranteed income program in Wisconsin issued its latest payment, worth $500, to recipients on Thursday.
The Madison Forward Fund sends monthly payments of $500 to 155 households in Madison, Wisconsin, on the first day of every month. Recipients are free to spend the money in any way they see fit.
Who is Eligible for the Program?
To be eligible for this payment, a recipient must be a resident of Madison, Wisconsin, be at least 18 years old, and have at least one child living with them who is 17 years old or younger. Additionally, recipients must have an annual income of less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Level, which can vary depending on how many people live in the household.
- A household of two can make no more than $36,620 every year.
- A household of eight can make no more than $93,260 annually.
The program will last for one year, with the first payment issued in September of last year and the final payment to be sent to recipients this August.
What are the Survey Requirements?
Every six months, recipients will be asked to complete online surveys, which take about 30 minutes to complete. The answers recipients give on the surveys are completely confidential, and recipients will be compensated $30 for every survey they complete.
Only 155 families are receiving these monthly payments, though another 200 families have been given the opportunity to participate in the surveys.
