Pat Sajak to stay as Hillsdale College chairman after leaving Wheel of Fortune.

Longtime Wheel of Fortune Host Pat Sajak to Remain Chairman of Hillsdale College

After captivating audiences for over four decades, Pat Sajak, the beloved host of Wheel of Fortune, has announced his departure from the show. However, fans need not despair, as Sajak will continue to make his mark as the chairman of the board for Hillsdale College.

Sajak, who has been at the helm of the game show since 1983 alongside the iconic Vanna White, took to Twitter to share the news. “Well, the time has come. I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last,” he tweeted. “It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all.”

Having already made a significant impact in the world of education, Sajak became the chairman of the Board of Trustees for Hillsdale in 2019, succeeding William Brodbeck. Prior to this role, he had served as the vice president of the board since 2003.

Vanna White, Sajak’s long-time co-host, expressed her admiration for his dedication to the show. “When we started @WheelofFortune who could have imagined we’d still be at it 41 seasons later?” she tweeted. “I couldn’t be happier to have shared the stage with you for all these years with one more to come. Cheers to you, @patsajak!”

As the curtain falls on this chapter of Wheel of Fortune, other key figures are also bidding farewell. Director Bob Ennis, who has been with the show since 1983 and served as director since 2015, as well as contestant co-producer Jackie Lamatis, will be leaving the series this year.

Hillsdale College, located in Hillsdale, Michigan, is a small private, conservative liberal arts college situated approximately 70 miles southwest of Ann Arbor. Notably, the institution stands apart from many others in the United States as it does not accept any federal funding.

As speculation swirls about who will fill Sajak’s shoes, rumors suggest that his daughter Maggie Sajak and former Live with Kelly and Ryan host Ryan Seacrest are being considered. Maggie, who currently works as a social correspondent for the game show, even stepped in for White earlier this year, showcasing her potential as a future host.
