Former White House counselor Kellyanne Conway has strongly criticized the hosts of The View for their concerns about the possibility of former President Donald Trump being elected again and presiding from jail.
Biden Gives Trump the Silent Treatment on Indictment, But for How Long?
In response to The View host Whoopi Goldberg’s comment about changing the Constitution to prevent a jailed president, Conway appeared on Fox News Tonight and argued that such remarks only serve to boost Trump’s popularity and favorability.
“Instead of simply ignoring him, they are actually empowering him,” Conway stated.
Conway also suggested that the recent indictment against Trump would have minimal impact on his position as the frontrunner among the 2024 GOP presidential candidates.
“He is leading because, when you are looking to hire someone for a significant role, you naturally consider someone who has already held that position,” Conway explained. “That is why he is ahead. People are craving genuine leadership and no longer want Joe Biden or Kamala Harris in power.”

“He will still be the frontrunner, as people perceive him as someone who is being persecuted and prosecuted for actions that they are still unsure about,” Conway continued. “They are worried that they could be in the same situation.”
Last week, special counsel Jack Smith, appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland, filed 37 charges against Trump. The former president was arraigned in Miami on Tuesday for alleged obstruction and mishandling of classified documents.
