Border Patrol Agents Intercept Smugglers in Fake FedEx Vans

In a daring operation, Border Patrol agents and members of the Texas Department of Public Safety successfully apprehended illegal immigrants attempting to cross the southern border in counterfeit FedEx vans.

These smugglers were caught in the El Paso Border Patrol sector in West Texas, thanks to the efforts of an anti-smuggling unit and the Texas Department of Public Safety. El Paso Border Patrol Sector Chief Anthony Good took to Twitter to share the news, stating, “Express Consequence Delivery! Our agents intercepted a smuggling scheme involving 26 migrants. Two of the three vehicles used were cloned FedEx vans. The smugglers will face charges!”

Surge in Illegal Border Crossings

The Biden administration has witnessed a significant increase in illegal border crossings. Since President Biden took office in 2021, an estimated 1.5 million illegal immigrants have successfully entered the United States, surpassing the total reported gotaways during the previous three years under the Trump administration.

Notably, there has been a staggering 1,000% increase in illegal immigration from various countries, including China, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, and the Dominican Republic.

Furthermore, the Biden administration recently announced plans to expand the CBP One app, allowing more foreign nationals to enter the United States through this digital platform. This decision has raised concerns about the capacity to manage the influx of migrants.

While approximately 80,000 foreign nationals entered the United States through the CBP One app between January and April, the recent expansion will allow nearly 40,000 migrants to enter the country each month using this platform. It’s important to note that this figure does not include a separate parole program for individuals from Haiti, Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Cuba.

Challenges Faced by Major Cities

The influx of migrants has posed challenges for major cities like Chicago and New York. The Chicago City Council recently approved $51 million in funding to provide housing and support for migrants. Similarly, 50 places of worship in New York City are now being utilized to accommodate foreign nationals who have crossed the border into the United States.

A CBS News poll reveals that a majority of Americans are dissatisfied with the Biden administration’s handling of the southern border. The poll found that 63% of Americans disapprove of President Biden’s approach, while only 37% approve.
