Marvel’s Latest Spider-Man Film Banned in Middle Eastern Country for Pushing Transgender Agenda on Children
The United Arab Emirates has decided to ban Marvel’s “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” due to its controversial portrayal of transgenderism, according to spider-man-across-the-spider-verse-uae-1235418577/” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>Deadline.
While the West celebrates Pride Month every June, the Arab world is often excluded from these festivities. However, Marvel, Columbia, and Sony Pictures attempted to slip in a subtle reference to transgenderism in the hopes of bypassing UAE censors.
Unfortunately for them, they were mistaken.
The film, currently the number one movie in U.S. theaters, includes a scene with a background poster that reads, “Protect trans lives.” Additionally, the main character, Miles Morales, wears a backpack with a discreet Black Lives Matter pin.
The UAE Media Council deemed these elements to be against the values of the country.

This is not the first time a film has faced a ban in the Middle East due to its progressive themes. Last year, Pixar’s “Lightyear” spinoff from “Toy Story” was banned in fourteen Middle Eastern and Asian countries for featuring an unnecessary lesbian kiss. The movie also performed poorly at the U.S. box office.
It seems that some studios fail to understand that divisive woke messages do not resonate with audiences. Pixar executives even blamed the absence of Mr. Potato Head for the film’s failure, showing a lack of understanding of their audience’s expectations.
Despite financial setbacks, studios continue to push sexualized content onto children. However, at least in the UAE, parents can be relieved that their children won’t be exposed to gender messages designed to confuse them.
