Partisan Divide on Pardoning Trump

The issue of pardoning Trump is largely influenced by one’s political party. Among Republican respondents, a significant 80% were in favor of the idea, while only 20% were against it. In contrast, among Democratic respondents, only 30% supported a pardon, with 70% opposing the idea. These findings underscore the partisan nature of this debate.

It is important to note that the former president has pleaded not guilty to the 37 charges he currently faces.

The poll was conducted from Wednesday through Thursday and included 2,090 registered voters. It provides valuable insights into public opinion on the matter.

Opinions on Trump’s Future in Politics

In another recent poll, it was found that 64% of Republican and Republican-leaning respondents would continue to support Trump if he remains in the 2024 presidential race. However, a majority of all respondents, 56%, believe that Trump should drop out of the race.

Trump is currently seeking the Republican nomination for the 2024 election, facing competition from other prominent Republicans such as Gov. Ron DeSantis, former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, Sen. Tim Scott, former Vice President Mike Pence, and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez.

President Joe Biden, who is running for reelection in the 2024 presidential election, may potentially face Trump again if he becomes the Republican nominee. When asked about the upcoming campaign, Biden responded that its tone would depend on “who the nominee is.”
