Haley pledges to stop funding anti-American nations as president.
Presidential candidate Nikki Haley takes a stand against countries that hate America
During a town hall in South Carolina, Nikki Haley, a presidential candidate, passionately recounted her experiences at the United Nations. She shed light on the animosity that other countries held against the United States, which was particularly disheartening considering that many of these countries were recipients of billions of dollars in foreign aid from the U.S.
“When I am president, we will no longer give money to countries that hate America,”
Haley expressed her firm belief that a strong military and energy independence were two things that countries like Russia, China, Iran, and other enemies did not want the United States to possess.
“We need to do both of those things. Strong militaries don’t start wars. Strong militaries prevent wars,”
She emphasized the importance of not relying on countries like Saudi Arabia for oil and criticized the purchase of what she referred to as “dirty oil” from Venezuela or Iran.
Feeling the opposition from other countries at the U.N., Haley took it upon herself to research each member’s voting patterns against the U.S. and the amount of foreign aid they received from America’s government.
“I took that book, and I gave it to President Trump. He lost his mind,”
Haley firmly believed that America should stop trying to buy friends and paying off enemies. She highlighted the fact that the U.S. provided $50 billion in foreign aid last year, including to countries like Pakistan, Iraq, Zimbabwe, Belarus, communist Cuba, and even China.
On a positive note, Haley’s campaign announced that she would be delivering a “major foreign policy speech” addressing China at the American Enterprise Institute on Friday.
