CNN faces backlash from fact-checkers over race-baiting on Father’s Day.
Twitter Takes a Stand Against Falsehoods and Censorship
Under Elon Musk’s leadership, Twitter is cracking down on leftists who spread lies and censor those who disagree. CNN recently learned this the hard way when it tweeted a false and race-baiting message about black fatherhood.
Black fathers are often portrayed as absent or distant, but that isn’t what most people experience, according to both data and Black dads themselves. Such biased portrayals are often based on who is telling the story. https://t.co/7Rtw2Bna9R

Twitter users were quick to correct CNN’s “data.” The Annie E. Casey Foundation’s Kids Count Data Center provides statistics that show 64 percent of black children in the United States live without their biological fathers.
Other users shared slightly different statistics that support the same conclusion:
Percentage of children living absent their biological fathers:
Black children: 57.6%
Hispanic children: 31.2%
White children: 20.7%— i/o (@monitoringbias) June 18, 2023
It’s clear that absentee fatherhood is an issue in America, and it has serious consequences. Children from fatherless homes are more likely to face poverty, drug and alcohol abuse, educational struggles, and health and emotional problems, according to the National Center for Fathering.
So why did CNN choose to address the issue of fatherhood in the way it did? Many Twitter users questioned the network’s motives and accused it of race-baiting.
Contrary to CNN’s claim, there is no data to support the idea that absentee fatherhood is not a problem in black families. The destruction of the black family is a tragedy that has persisted since the end of slavery.
During the Jim Crow era, segregationists tried to rewrite history by portraying slaves and their masters as living harmoniously. But the truth is that black families were often torn apart by slavery, with husbands and wives forced to live and work on different farms and children sold to distant plantations.
The black church played a crucial role in preserving the black family during times of servility and second-class citizenship. However, in the modern age of secular leftist paternalism, the black family is facing new challenges.
CNN, as part of the establishment media, seems more interested in promoting certain portrayals of black fatherhood rather than addressing the real issues. This virtue signaling only serves to divide and distract.
On Juneteenth, a holiday that commemorates the end of slavery, it’s important to recognize how these virtue-signaling elites operate. Instead of tackling the serious problems of mass incarceration and poverty in urban America, they create new holidays and dismiss or label anyone who raises concerns about absentee fatherhood as a racist.
The destruction of the black family is a tragedy that deserves honest and thoughtful discussion, not race-baiting and false narratives. It’s time for a more nuanced and constructive conversation about fatherhood in America.
