NC House speaker accused of engaging in extramarital affairs and trading political favors for sex.
North Carolina House Speaker Accused of Misconduct
North Carolina House Speaker Tim Moore, a prominent figure in the state, is facing serious allegations of misconduct. According to court documents obtained by WSOC, Moore is accused of engaging in an affair and using his political position to participate in group sex with individuals seeking political favor.
Personal Relationship and Betrayal
In a lawsuit filed by Scott Lassiter, it is claimed that Moore took advantage of his role as Speaker of the North Carolina House of Representatives to establish contact and develop a personal relationship with Mrs. Lassiter, despite being aware of her marriage to the plaintiff.
Lassiter, a former Apex City councilman and current Wake County assistant principal, states that the affair has had a devastating impact on his marriage.
Explosive Revelations
The court documents further reveal that when Lassiter confronted his wife, Jaime Lassiter, about his suspicions of infidelity, she admitted to a three-year affair with Tim Moore. Shockingly, she confessed to engaging in sexual activities with Moore and other individuals seeking his political favor. Additionally, she expressed fear that ending the relationship with Moore would jeopardize her job.
Jaime Lassiter currently holds the position of executive director of the North Carolina Conference of Clerks of Superior Court.
Scott Lassiter is suing Moore, a Republican, on various grounds, including alienation of affections and civil conspiracy. The alienation of affections statute in North Carolina allows individuals to sue their spouse’s extramarital partners.
Strong Denial and Counterclaims
A spokesperson for Moore vehemently denied the allegations, describing the lawsuit as baseless and originating from a troubled individual. The spokesperson assured that they would vigorously defend against the claims and explore all available legal options.
Meanwhile, Jamie Lassiter, in response to her husband’s actions, emphasized that they have been separated for years and criticized his behavior during their divorce process.
The lawsuit also alleges that Scott Lassiter had a meeting with Moore, during which Moore admitted to the affair and offered assistance, implying that he could leverage his position as Speaker to benefit Lassiter.
As this scandal unfolds, it raises serious questions about the conduct of those in positions of power and the impact it can have on personal lives.
