Trump criticizes Fox News in interview, Tucker Carlson likely pleased.

Former President Donald Trump Takes a Swipe at Fox News

In a recent interview with Bret Baier of Fox News, former President Donald Trump didn’t hold back in pointing out the network’s declining viewership.

Trump’s remarks were captured in a short clip shared on Twitter by Jack Posobiec, senior editor at HumanEvents.com. The clip shows Trump and Baier expressing contrasting views on the current state of Fox News.

“More independent voters watch Fox News than any other TV source,” Baier stated.

“A lot less than used to watch it,” Trump responded.

Baier tried to defend the network by saying, “They do watch.” However, Trump quickly reiterated his point, stating, “But a lot less, Bret.”

In true Trump fashion, the former president refused to let a member of the establishment media mislead voters with half-truths.

It’s undeniable that Fox News’ ratings have taken a hit since parting ways with Tucker Carlson, as reported by The Western Journal.

One Twitter user, who identifies as an independent, shared that Carlson’s departure was the reason she stopped watching Fox News: “Hahaha, I’m an Independent [and] I haven’t been back since their Tucker stunt.”

It’s no surprise that the network’s popularity among independents has waned without Carlson. Both statistical data and personal anecdotes have shown that Carlson appealed to viewers across the political spectrum.

Last October, The Wrap reported that Carlson’s show attracted a higher percentage of Democratic viewers compared to competing shows on MSNBC and CNN.

Furthermore, Carlson’s anti-establishment opinions provided a platform for dissenting voices on the left, including Jimmy Dore and Russell Brand.

Since the launch of his new show, “Tucker on Twitter,” on June 6, Carlson has continued to attract millions of views, showcasing his enduring popularity.

Trump couldn’t help but revel in Fox News’ decline, suggesting that the network’s executives either underestimated the impact of Carlson’s departure or simply didn’t care.

Considering the Republican establishment’s lack of awareness of the electorate’s anti-establishment sentiment, it’s possible that Fox News executives didn’t anticipate the mass exodus of viewers.

Alternatively, some speculate that the network’s higher-ups intentionally sabotaged their own network to suppress Carlson’s anti-establishment views, though this remains a conspiracy theory.

Regardless, it’s clear that Fox News is facing the consequences of their decisions, and Tucker Carlson’s absence has played a significant role in their decline.
