Twitter employees file lawsuit against company over withheld bonuses.

Twitter Employees File Lawsuit Over Promised Bonus Payments

A group of Twitter employees has taken legal action against the social media giant, alleging that they were not paid the promised bonus amounts, amounting to “tens of millions of dollars.”

The lawsuit claims that former finance chief Ned Segal and other executives repeatedly assured employees that they would receive 50% of their bonuses in 2022. However, none of these promised bonuses were ever paid out.

The case was filed in a federal court in San Francisco, California, on Tuesday, as reported by the Associated Press.

Seeking Justice for All Affected Employees

Mark Schobinger, the lead plaintiff in the case and Twitter’s former senior director of compensation, is seeking class action status for all current and former Twitter employees who were allegedly affected by the company’s financial negligence.

The lawsuit highlights the need for accountability and fair treatment of employees in the tech industry.

Twitter and its CEO, Elon Musk, have not yet commented on the situation.

This is not the first legal challenge Twitter has faced since Musk’s acquisition of the company in October 2022. Another lawsuit has accused the platform of over 1,700 instances of music copyright infringement.

Stay tuned for updates on this ongoing legal battle.
