Dershowitz: Hunter Biden claims may be impeachable.
Investigation Needed into Hunter Biden’s Alleged Wrongdoings, Says Harvard Law Professor
Renowned Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz has called for a thorough investigation into recent allegations surrounding President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden. Dershowitz believes that if proven true, these allegations could constitute an impeachable offense.
Speaking in an interview with Fox News, Dershowitz emphasized the importance of Republicans, who currently control Congress, taking the lead in investigating Hunter Biden’s actions.
Earlier this week, the Department of Justice and Biden’s legal team announced a plea deal in which Hunter Biden would plead guilty to several misdemeanor offenses unrelated to the ongoing Republican-backed investigations into his overseas business dealings during his father’s vice presidency. However, U.S. Attorney David Weiss confirmed that an investigation into Biden is still ongoing.
If it is indeed proven that Hunter Biden allegedly demanded a payment from a Chinese businessman while his father was present, Dershowitz argues that this would constitute an impeachable offense of bribery under the Constitution. He also points out that Biden cannot invoke the Fifth Amendment against self-incrimination in Congress, as his lawyers have stated that he is no longer subject to criminal prosecution.
“That would be an impeachable offense. That would be the crime of bribery,” Dershowitz stated, while acknowledging that it has not yet been proven that Joe Biden was in the room during the alleged demand. He stressed the need for a thorough investigation due to the existence of probable cause.

“Thankfully, our system of checks and balances allows Congress, which is not controlled by the party in power, to conduct investigations. Biden can no longer plead the Fifth Amendment, so I urge these investigations to move forward,” Dershowitz added.
Whistleblower Claims
In addition to Dershowitz’s call for investigation, a whistleblower has come forward with claims regarding Hunter Biden’s alleged misconduct. The whistleblower asserts that in 2017, Hunter Biden sent a WhatsApp message to a Chinese businessman, stating that he was “sitting here with my father” and leveraging his father’s name and connections to further his own interests. The message was sent to Henry Zhao, a Chinese business associate of Hunter’s who reportedly has ties to the Chinese Communist Party.
Testimony from Gary Shapley, an official at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), confirms the authenticity of a July 2017 message sent via Meta-owned WhatsApp to Zhao. The message, as described by Shapley, includes Hunter Biden expressing his disappointment that a commitment made had not been fulfilled and demanding a resolution before the situation escalated.
“Now means tonight,” Biden emphasized, cautioning that any communication regarding the matter should only come from Zhao, “Zhang, or the chairman.”
