In a court filing, Kevin Costner’s estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner, has reportedly addressed rumors surrounding her husband’s sudden departure from the hit TV series “Yellowstone,” according to the Daily Mail.
Baumgartner, who filed for divorce after nearly 20 years of marriage, stated in court documents obtained by the Daily Mail that the show had nothing to do with their divorce proceedings.

Baumgartner emphasized that she did not pressure Costner to leave the show and expressed concern over his public attacks on her, which she believes are intended to pressure her into moving out without a temporary child support agreement in place.
Earlier this year, rumors circulated that Costner was leaving “Yellowstone” at the height of its popularity, leading some to speculate that Baumgartner had influenced his decision. However, she has denied these claims.
The creator of the show, Taylor Sheridan, recently expressed his disappointment over Costner’s exit, stating that he still holds a high opinion of him as an actor. Sheridan also mentioned that once lawyers get involved, communication becomes difficult and false statements are made to shift blame.
Despite the disappointment, Sheridan hopes that Costner’s focus on his upcoming movie will be worth it and that it turns out to be a good one.

Costner’s character, John Dutton, has been rumored to be leaving the series due to scheduling conflicts. Paramount has not provided much clarification on the matter.
Sources close to the production have revealed that Costner will not be returning for the sixth season of “Yellowstone.” Filming for the remaining episodes of season 5 has yet to begin.
