Pence shifts focus to promoting adoption in anti-abortion battle.
Former Vice President Mike Pence Celebrates Life Day at Lincoln Memorial
Former Vice President Mike Pence stood on the iconic steps of the Lincoln Memorial on Saturday to participate in National Celebrate Life Day. The event marked the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, a decision that had significant implications for reproductive rights in the United States.
“As we celebrate this great new anniversary, let us here resolve that we will work and we will pray as never before to advance the cause of life and the laws of the land in every state in America. That we will support women in crisis pregnancies with resources and support for their care, for the unborn, and for the newborn as never before,”
Pence said. “That we will advance the cause of adoption in America, for to be pro-life you must be pro-adoption. And we will work every day to elect leaders at every level who will stand without apology for the sanctity of human life.”
During the event, Pence emphasized the importance of supporting women facing crisis pregnancies and providing them with the necessary resources and care. He also highlighted the significance of adoption, stating that being pro-life means being pro-adoption. Pence expressed his commitment to electing leaders who prioritize the sanctity of human life.
Adoption: A Powerful Choice
According to the Adoption Network, between 2% to 4% of people have adopted, and over a third have considered adoption. In the United States, one out of every 25 families with children has an adopted child, and there are approximately 5 million adopted Americans.
These statistics demonstrate the impact and importance of adoption in our society, highlighting the need for continued support and advocacy for this cause.

Support for Abortion Restrictions
Pence, along with fellow Republican presidential candidates Miami Mayor Francis Suarez and Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), have expressed their support for a nationwide abortion ban after 15 weeks. However, they have also acknowledged the need for certain exceptions, such as cases involving the life of the mother, rape, and incest. Recent polls indicate that a majority of Americans would vote in favor of a ban at this stage of pregnancy.
In a separate development, Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) signed a six-week abortion ban in his state, further fueling the ongoing debate surrounding reproductive rights.
